Hi, sweetheart. It's Dr. Mira. Welcome to lesson 44: Box breathing on the street. A four-count reset you can do while walking. Let me walk you through this properly, the way I would if we were sitting together. A scared body is a normal body. Your heart racing, your hands shaking, your mind going blank — that is adrenaline doing its job. Nothing is wrong with you. Freezing is not failure. It is your nervous system buying time. What we practice is how to come out of it a little faster each time. Breathe with me: in for four, hold for four, out for four, hold for four. You can do this while walking, and no one will notice. Name the feeling out loud or in your head. 'I am scared right now.' Naming it lowers its volume — that is real, and it is measurable. Anger is information, not a plan. It tells you a line was crossed. It does not get to pick what you do next. Afterward, take care of the body first. Water, food, warmth, someone to talk to. Shaking and crying are the system resetting, not weakness. Regulation is a skill, not a personality trait. Every repetition makes the next one easier. You are already doing the work. Now here's how I want you to practice. Read the lesson once, picture yourself doing it, and then do it for real one time today. One repetition is enough to start. If it feels awkward the first time, that's normal. Awkward means new, not wrong. That's all for this one. Watch it as many times as you need. I'm so proud of you for being here.
